Allison Cherry was the much beloved daughter of Ben and Ruth Cherry. Ben was a successful independent paint contractor and Ruth was the principal of Royse City High School. (This fact did not keep Allison from getting into occasional trouble!) Despite being born with severe asthma, Allison Cherry was full of life and laughter. She was a wispy, little blonde with a smile almost bigger than her face and a contagious laugh. She filled a room with teasing and banter. Allison was indulged, yet a thoughtful, giving child. Allison loved people and loved to make people laugh. She loved Royse City, her school and her church. Allison tried everything. She was involved in volleyball, cheerleading, journalism, student council, FCA, FHA, and yearbook. Allison hated math and her grades were proof of that, but she loved writing and won several first place UIL awards. Allison would pour her energy into the things she loved, she was silly, spontaneous, and was named “Most Gullible” her senior year. Her mischievous nature kept Ben and Ruth on their toes! Allison left this world in December of 1993, but her love for life is always remembered and we hope in a small way is carried on through this gift of education.

Cam Murray was the son of Cathy Partridge and Mark Murray and big brother to Mitch. His first home was Royse City, TX, and Cam attended Kindergarten at Browning Primary. In 1984, Cam and his family made their first of a series of moves to Rockwall, Texas. From Rockwall the family moved to Bellingham, WA, then to Naperville, IL, and finally to Ashburn Farms, VA before returning to Royse City just before Cam's 6th grade year. Along the way, Cam learned to be very adaptable and to easily make friends. Cam was intelligent, but not an excellent student, as his time was, to him, better used if spent participating in any social activity. Out-going and adventurous, he participated in many activities from sports to student council to choir. Cam attended high school in Royse City and Beaumont before graduating from Rockwall High School in 1997. No matter where life led him, Cam always considered Royse City his “home”. Upon graduating high school, Cam enrolled at Tyler Junior College. One day walking across campus, he ran into some TJC cheerleaders who encouraged him to try out for the co-ed cheer squad. Umm, cute girls, why not? Cam cheered for TJC and for the SFA Jacks as he continued his education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Cam loved cheering and college life but struggled with the direction of his education and changed majors on several occasions (much to his parents’ dismay)! Looking for direction and a new challenge, Cam joined the US Navy, where he discovered that people looked up to him...a tribute to his natural leadership skills. After his discharge, Cam was committed to finishing his college education and returned to SFA. Cam loved his family and friends. He filled a room with teasing, laughter, hugs and rowdiness. Cam had a soft spot for the underdog. He was a treasure to his brother, his cousins and his friends. Cam left this world in February of 2003, but his smile, his humor and his fun-loving nature will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him. We hope, in a small way, his love for people is carried on through this gift of education.
