In 2009, Mrs. JoNell Mellody and then Superintendent Randy Hancock embarked on a mission to enhance public education above and beyond traditional means.

The Royse City ISD Education Foundation was formed and has flourished into the go-to source of funds for our most innovative educators and programs.

Since then a selfless group of volunteer directors generated and distributed more than $1.75 Million to teachers, students, and campuses for innovative programming.

In our inaugural year, 16 grants were awarded for a total of $29,424.

That number climbed to more than $115,000 by 2024.

Since then a selfless group of volunteer directors generated and distributed more than $1 Million

to teachers, students, and campuses for innovative programming. In our inaugural year, 16 grants were awarded for

a total of $29,424. That number climbed to more than $100,000 by 2022.

This growth is contributed to the dedicated directors who formed outstanding relationships

with generous donors throughout our community and region.
